Man Arrested After Altercation At San Mateo High School
Police allege a man with a knife in his backpack struggled with campus security and police officers while trespassing at the school.

SAN MATEO, CA — A man was arrested at San Mateo High School this week after police allege he trespassed on the campus and fought with security while carrying a knife in his backpack.
Police said a 911 caller reported a man with no apparent reason to be on campus shortly before 10 a.m. Wednesday. Campus security said they confronted the man and asked him to leave, leading to a physical altercation.
Multiple officers responded to the scene, and police said the man ignored their commands and resisted their attempts to detain him. After a struggle, police subdued the man and placed him in handcuffs.

According to police, the man initially lied about his name, and a search of his backpack revealed a large kitchen knife.
Police identified the suspect as Oscar Marroquen-Perez, 29, of San Mateo.

He was booked into jail on suspicion of multiple charges, including trespassing, possession of a weapon on school grounds, disrupting school activities and resisting a police officer.
