Man Burglarizes Redwood City Apartment While Resident Sleeps
The burglary occurred on Saturday.

An East Palo Alto man has been arrested in connection with a residential burglary that occurred in Redwood City on Saturday morning, police said.
Danny Dixon Jr., 33, was arrested on suspicion of burglarizing an apartment in the 600 block of Topaz Street in Redwood City, police said.
Investigators believe Dixon entered the apartment of a 58-year-old Redwood City resident through an unlocked front door at about 9:20 a.m., Redwood City police said.
The suspect took the victim's cellphone and was seen leaving the apartment by neighbors, according to police. One neighbor knocked on the victim's door and discovered that he was asleep and had not been aware that someone had entered his home and taken his phone, police said.
The victim reported the incident to police. Officers responded and obtained a suspect description then searched the area, but were unable to locate the perpetrator.
About two hours later, an officer spotted Dixon walking near the intersection of James Avenue and Grand Street and noticed that he matched the suspect description. He was detained and positively identified by witnesses as the man they saw exiting the apartment, police said.
The victim's cellphone was recovered and Dixon was booked into San Mateo County Jail for residential burglary.
