No Suspects Outstanding After 4 Found Dead In San Mateo Home: Police
In an update, police said it appeared the person responsible for the shooting was one of the people inside the home.
SAN MATEO, CA — The deaths of four people, including two children, found inside a San Mateo home appeared to be an isolated incident and that one of the adults was responsible for the killings, police said Tuesday.
Officers discovered the bodies during a welfare check Monday morning on the 4100 block of Alameda de la Pulgas. Police said no one answered the door when they arrived, and a check of the perimeter revealed no signs of forced entrance. The officers accessed the home through an unlocked window and found a man, woman, and two children dead inside.
Officials said the two children were found inside a bedroom, and their cause of death remains under investigation. According to police, the man and woman were found inside a bathroom with fatal gunshot wounds near a 9mm pistol with a loaded magazine.
