Peninsula Sports Hall of Fame to Induct Six

June 22 event, the 31st since 1989, is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. the San Mateo County History Museum in Redwood City

Six individuals will be inducted into the Peninsula Sports Hall of Fame on the evening of June 22 at the San Mateo County History Museum in downtown Redwood City. They are:

  • David Bakhtiari, a former Serra High football star who has become an all-Pro offensive lineman with the NFL's Green Bay Packers.
  • Nicole Quigley-Borg, a Capuchino High and College of San Mateo alum who is the head coach of CSM's softball state champions.
  • Horace Hinshaw, a dedicated journalist who has spent more than a half-century covering and promoting athletics in the city of Pacifica.
  • Mike Lewis, a longtime track and field coach at College of San Mateo and Skyline College who has tutored Olympians and dozens of state champions.
  • Eddie Mack, a star athlete at San Mateo High and College of San Mateo who became a legend on the track at Cal Poly-SLO after World War II.
  • Maddie Price, a graduate of Menlo School who has become a world-class track and field standout as a member of the Canadian National Team.

Advance tickets ($20 for museum members, $35 for members) are available at the museum. All proceeds will benefit the museum which houses the Hall of Fame's 300 plaques. The museum's telephone number is 650-299-0104.
