Police Seek Suspects in Armed Robbery at San Mateo Taco Bell
Two men robbed customers and employees at a Taco Bell restaurant at gunpoint on Wednesday night.

The San Mateo Police Department is investigating a brazen take-over robbery at Taco Bell on Wednesday night.
Officers responded to a report of an armed, take-over style robbery at the Taco Bell located at 500 E. 4th Ave. at about 9:50 p.m. Wednesday, police said.
Two suspects, described as black men in their 20s, contained several customers and staff, and robbed the restaurant at gunpoint, according to police. There were nine customers and two Taco Bell staff in the restaurant at the time of the robbery.

The suspects fled from the restaurant on foot, heading southbound on Claremont Street with an undisclosed amount of cash. None of the customers or staff were injured.
SMPD Officers and Detectives continue to investigate this case, and are working with allied agencies to identify any similar crimes. The Police Department is seeking the community’s help to put together details of this crime and identify the suspects responsible.

The suspects were described as thin, between 5 feet 9 inches and 6 feel tall, and were both wearing hoodies -- one black, one gray -- with white bandanas covering their faces. Both suspects were armed with handguns.
