Remains Found Of Peninsula Woman Missing Since 2019

San Bruno resident Lorie Esposito's remains were found in a wooded area adjacent to the Shelter Creek apartment complex, authorities said.

SAN BRUNO, CA — The remains of a Peninsula woman missing since 2019 were discovered late last month by a utility crew, San Bruno police said.

San Bruno resident Lorie Esposito’s remains were found in a wooded area adjacent to the Shelter Creek apartment complex.

Esposito was 61 when she was reported missing at the Shelter Creek complex in 2019, The Mercury News reports.

Officers at around 11:50 a.m. Aug. 29 responded to the Shelter Creek complex on the discovery of human remains.

An Investigator from the San Mateo County Coroner’s Office responded to the scene and took custody of the body, and the agency several days later identified the body as Esposito’s, police said.

Authorities have not yet determined the cause of death, but said no foul play is suspected.

The case remains under investigation by the SBPD and the San Mateo County Coroner’s Office.
