Road Closed In San Mateo Due To Construction: Police

Caltrans will be contracting a temporary support structure for a bridge in the area.

SAN MATEO, CA — Police said they will shut down a road Monday through Wednesday nightly in San Mateo due to a construction project by Caltrans.

The San Mateo Police Department shared an an alert from Caltrans stating the connector loop off-ramp from westbound SR-92 to southbound U.S. 101 will be closed each night at 11 p.m. and will open at 5 a.m. each morning. Work is anticipated to be complete by Thursday at 5 a.m.

Police said significant traffic delays expected and to use alternate routes until further notice.

For detours, drivers heading west on SR-92 can take exit 12C, turn right onto Concar Drive, turn right onto Delaware Street, merge onto eastbound SR-92, and take exit 13A for southbound U.S. 101.

"This work is part of the $45M U.S. 101- SR-92 Short-term Improvements Project that is cosponsored by the San Mateo County Transportation Authority and City/County Association of Governments. The project will bring operational improvements, enhancement to local access, and promotion of economic vitality to the region," Caltrans said.
