Road Repairs Impact Traffic In San Mateo County
Road maintenance at a busy intersection will impact traffic the rest of the week, police said.
SAN MATEO, CA — Police have advised locals to use caution when driving around roadwork that began Wednesday at an intersection in San Mateo and to expect delays the rest of the week.
On Wednesday, crack sealing of the roadway at the intersection of 3rd Avenue and S. Norfolk Street began.
Slurry sealing started on Thursday and goes through the Friday, police said.

Traffic has been impacted as a result and police said that should continue the rest of the week. The roadwork is planned to take place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. most days.
"There are several contractors out there doing the work and we’d like to keep them safe, along with those driving and walking in the area," police said.

The streetlights have been set to flashing red in the area to slow the flow of traffic.
"Please treat flashing reds as a 4-way stop and mind the instructions provided to you by those directing traffic," police said. "This temporary impact will yield a beautiful new roadway for you to travel across soon."
