San Mateo County Proclaims Sept. 22 Nat'l Voter Registration Day

There are more than 426,000 registered voters in San Mateo County, representing 85 percent of all eligible voters.

SAN MATEO, CA—The San Mateo County Board of Supervisors proclaimed Sept. 22 as National Voter Registration Day.

According to the county officials, there are more than 426,000 registered voters in San Mateo County, representing 85 percent of all eligible voters, among the highest rates in the state.

All voters in San Mateo County who have registered by Oct. 19 will receive a ballot in the mail.

To register online, residents will need:

  • Your California driver license or California identification card number,
  • The last four digits of your social security number and
  • Your date of birth.

To register to vote in California, residents must be:

  • A United States citizen and a resident of California
  • 18 years old or older on Election Day
  • Not currently in state or federal prison or on parole for the conviction of a felony
  • Not prohibited from voting by a court because of mental incompetency
