San Mateo Deputies: Man Threatened Neighbors, Shot At Homes
Justin Chebahtah made verbal threats to neighbors in the area and told officers that he wanted to die, San Mateo deputies said.

SAN MATEO COUNTY, CA—A Half Moon Bay man is behind bars accused of threatening to kill his neighbors and firing shots at their mobile homes.
On Sept. 19 at 11:08 p.m., San Mateo County deputies said they were dispatched to Cameron’s RV Park for a report of a shooting.
Once on scene, deputies said they encountered the suspect, Justin Chebahtah, armed with a handgun and rifle shooting at other mobile homes.

According to deputies, Chebahtah made verbal threats to neighbors in the area and told deputies that he wanted to die. Chebahtah then barricaded himself in his trailer and set fire to it.
Deputies said they surrounded Chebahtah and negotiated with him in an effort to get him to surrender peacefully. As Chebahtah tried to flee on his bicycle, he was stopped by deputies and placed under arrest without any additional force used.

Following Chebahtah's arrest, deputies said they checked on the other residents and determined no one was hurt. They also provided them with victim’s resources for the shooting.
Chebahtah is facing multiple charges, including attempted murder, discharging a firearm with negligence, arson, shooting into a dwelling, exhibiting a firearm to law enforcement and criminal threats.
