San Mateo Man To Serve As Guide For U.S. Association Of Blind Athletes

SAN MATEO, CA — A San Mateo resident will serve as an endurance sport ambassador for the U.S. Association of Blind Athletes, the organization announced this week.
Bryan Lam, an avid triathlete and runner who has completed five of the six world marathon majors and the IRONMAN World Championship, was one of two guides selected for the team along with Shannon Houlihan of Houston.
Both Lam and Houlihan have served as guides at the USABA Marathon National Championships.

They will assist the five runners selected for the endurance sport ambassador team.
“As we expand our event offerings for the running community, this team of endurance sport ambassadors will play an important role in creating awareness around those events,” said USABA CEO Molly Quinn. “2022 will feature our 13th USABA Marathon National Championships, held in conjunction with the California International Marathon (CIM), and we look to build on the success of that event with exciting new races this year and in future years.”
