San Mateo Police to Hold DUI Checkpoint Friday

The checkpoint will take place from Friday night to early Saturday morning.

The San Mateo Police Department will hold a DUI checkpoint in the city Friday night as part of a countywide effort to curb drunken driving.

The checkpoint will take place from 6 p.m. Friday to 2 a.m. Saturday on Peninsula Avenue near Delaware Street in San Mateo, Police Sgt. Dave Norris said.

San Mateo County's "Avoid the 23" DUI enforcement activities will be held in conjunction with other special DUI enforcement patrols occurring throughout San Mateo County as part of the statewide Drunk Driving, Over the Limit enforcement campaign.
