Want To See What It’s Like To Be A Police Officer? Bay Area Applications Open Soon

This is the fifth session of the city's community police academy.

SAN MATEO, CA — The application for the San Mateo Community Police academy opens June 3 for those who want to see what it’s like to be a police officer.

This is the fifth session this year and it will run from Sept. 11 to Nov. 20 from 6:30-9 p.m. Thursdays. It is an 11-week program that gives the community a behind the scenes look at the San Mateo Police Department.

“While this may be helpful to those looking to pursue a career in law enforcement, residents and those employed here will receive priority,” a press release stated.
