Bay Area Officer Saves Kitten Wedged Under Tesla Hood

A police officer helped save a kitten who had squeezed herself into a dangerous spot under the hood of a Tesla.

SAN MATEO, CA — An officer reunited with a kitten he rescued from a precarious place inside of a Tesla in San Mateo, police announced Thursday.

On Nov. 2, San Mateo Police Department Officer Figueroa said he responded to a call after someone said there was a strange noise coming from their engine.

When Officer Figueroa arrived he opened the hood of the Tesla and found a pair of glowing eyes staring back at him. He said he saw a kitten clinging to the engine.

Officer Figueroa said the cat was wedged in tightly but he rolled up his sleeves and extracted the kitten from her dangerous spot inside the car.

Officer Figueroa recently reunited with the cat when a member of the organization The Purrfect Catch brought the kitten into the police station for her naming ceremony.

The cat will now be known as "Figueroa."
