Suspect In San Mateo Car Burglary Broke Window, Stole Bag: Police

Police arrested the suspect at a bus stop at the corner of 9th Avenue and El Camino.

SAN MATEO, CA — A San Francisco resident was arrested in connection with an auto burglary that occurred in San Mateo early Thursday morning in the 300 block of El Camino Real.

Officers received a call from the victim, who heard his car alarm sounding and found his backpack stolen and the window smashed. Police arrested the suspect, 38-year-old Marlon Quiten Robinson, at a bus stop at the corner of 9th Avenue and El Camino, according to a news release.

Robinson was charged with second degree burglary, possession of burglary tools and possession of a controlled substance. He was cited, released at the scene and given a court date, per COVID-19 protocols.
