Two Teens Injured in East Palo Alto Shooting

Two teens were injured in a shooting that may have been motivated by road rage on Wednesday night in East Palo Alto, police said.

At about 10:55 p.m. East Palo Alto police were dispatched to a residence located at 2543 Farrington Way, near University Avenue, on a report of 23 ShotSpotter activations, according to police.

Officers were contacted by a person inside the residence and informed that two teen victims were suffering from gunshot wounds.

Officers located the two victims, a 17-year-old and a 16-year-old, both East Palo Alto residents, in a rear bedroom of the residence, police said.

Both victims sustained at least one gunshot wound and were transported to a local hospital for treatment of injuries not considered life-threatening, police said.

Based on the police investigation, both victims were in the front yard of 2543 Farrington Way when a silver newer model Honda stopped nearby.

A Hispanic male got out of the vehicle and walked to the front of the residence. He fired at the two victims before fleeing from the scene in the vehicle. He remains outstanding, according to police.

The motive for the shooting appears to have been road rage, police said.
