4 Arrested, 41 Cited At Marin DUI Checkpoint: Police

The checkpoint was held Friday night and into Saturday morning at the intersection of De Long Avenue and Redwood Boulevard, police said.

NOVATO, CA —Four people were arrested and 41 were cited over the weekend at a Novato DUI checkpoint, police said.

Two people were arrested on suspicion of DUI and two others for outstanding warrants, the Novato Police Department said in a statement.

The checkpoint was held Friday night and into Saturday morning at the intersection of De Long Avenue and Redwood Boulevard, police said.

Police said 1,141 vehicles came through the checkpoint, of which 90 were directed to a secondary screening area.

Citations were issued to 34 motorists for being unlicensed and to an additional seven motorists for driving with a suspended or revoked license, police said.

Funding for the checkpoint was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
