Downtown San Rafael Celebrates Small Business Saturday(R) with $500 Shopping Spree Raffle and Free Gift Wrapping

Downtown San Rafael is celebrating its eclectic and independent businesses by participating in the fifth annual Small Business Saturday on November 29th. Founded by American Express in 2010, Small Business Saturday® is a day to celebrate the small businesses that help support your neighborhood and is held every year on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Now in its fifth year, Small Business Saturday has been embraced as part of the holiday shopping tradition as each year shoppers, businesses and public officials come together to Shop Small® and show their neighborhood pride.

On November 29th from 11 am to 5 pm, the community is encouraged to take part in “Keep It Local” Holiday Shopping promotions. Businesses will be hosting holiday open houses and special savings plus the Business Improvement District will host a free gift-wrapping service in the City Plaza. There will be musical entertainment in the plaza and along Fourth Street to add to the festive ambience. Shoppers can bring their receipts from downtown businesses to the BID Booth for raffle tickets to win downtown gift certificates or a grand prize of $500 Downtown shopping spree. Shoppers may claim one raffle ticket for every $20 spent at downtown businesses between Friday November 28 and Saturday, November 29 until 5 pm. Be sure to stop by the plaza to receive your Shop Small® canvas tote bag.
