SAN RAFAEL, CA — San Rafael officers arrested a man after a brief foot chase Friday night, discovering he had two warrants out for his arrest while carrying a loaded revolver and drugs, according to police.

In a news release Monday, the San Rafael Police Department said the suspect took off after officers attempted to make contact with him on Canal Street. Police said the man had two outstanding warrants, including one for being a felon in possession of a firearm and another for assault and battery resulting from a case last year in San Rafael.

Officers booked the man into Marin County Jail on the two warrants, and he will face seven additional felony and misdemeanor charges stemming from his recent arrest.
