Fireworks Cache Seized Over New Year's, Suspect Arrested In San Rafael
Officers reported dozens of calls related to fireworks over the holiday and said they found a man selling them on the street.

SAN RAFAEL, CA — The San Rafael Police Department fielded dozens of calls related to illegal fireworks over New Year's Eve, and investigators said they tracked down a potential source of the devices and confiscated a large cache. The department said more than 40 calls related to fireworks added to an already-busy night over the holiday.
Over the weekend, officers said discovered a man with an array of illegal fireworks standing on the corner of Medway Road and Canal Street. Police said the man admitted to selling fireworks to people on the street.
Police seized the fireworks and shared images on social media showing a large collection of various devices. The man was arrested on suspicion of possessing and selling illegal fireworks.
