Forgetful San Rafael Burglary Suspect Sought
A burglary suspect had to make a u-turn after realizing he left his keys at a San Rafael crime scene, police said.
SAN RAFAEL, CA — Authorities are asking for the public’s help locating an absent-minded San Rafael burglary suspect.
The suspect sought in connection with the Monday night burglary of Johnny Doughnuts’ corporate office in San Rafael made a return visit to the crime scene to retrieve his keys, the San Rafael Police Department told The Associated Press.
The burglar is seen in surveillance video provided by police wearing a blue Kentucky University Wildcats t-shirt. He stole a bank bag with an unspecified amount of cash, according to police.

Regardless of the outcome of the investigation, police can expect a reward from the victim for their efforts.
The burglary occurred between 8 to 8:30 p.m. Monday, according to police.

Johnny Doughnuts founder Craig Blum told The AP that his company will gift a few dozen doughnuts to San Rafael police.
“It was an unfortunate incident, but we’re glad no doughnuts or team members were harmed,” Blum said.
“Sometimes even the thought of a doughnut makes you do crazy things.”
