Former Marin Teacher Accused Of Sending Inappropriate Texts: Report
A theology teacher at Marin Catholic High School resigned amid allegations he sent inappropriate texts to a minor at a Oakland church.

SAN RAFAEL, CA — Oakland police are investigating allegations that a former teacher at Marin Catholic High School sent inappropriate texts to a minor, according to the Marin Independent Journal.
According to the paper, the school placed Jonathan Chavez on leave in April, soon after the Diocese of Oakland notified them of the allegations. School leaders began an internal investigation, locked the teacher's email account and contacted the Marin County Sheriff's Office, officials said.
In a letter to families this week, the school said its investigation had not uncovered evidence of any inappropriate communication with students, and Chavez has denied the allegations. He resigned in May.
