Free San Rafael Juniper Removal Program Aims To Reduce Fire Risk

The program runs through Dec. 17.

SAN RAFAEL, CA — The city of San Rafael is making it easier for residents to reduce the risk of wildfires.

The program aims to help residents create defensible space by removing highly flammable juniper plants.

The program, which is in its third year, is the result of a partnership between the San Rafael Fire Department, AmeriCorps and the Marin Wildlife Prevention Authority.
