'Ghost Gun' Found During Traffic Stop In Marin County: Police

Police pulled over a driver for having expired registration from over a year ago, police said.

SAN RAFAEL, CA — Officers found an unserialized handgun, known as a "ghost gun," on a 25-year-old man after they pulled them over Tuesday in San Rafael for driving with expired registration, police said.

On Tuesday afternoon, San Rafael Police Department officers said they pulled over a driver, later identified as Ethan La Corte Kring, 25, of Studio City, in the area of Fourth Street and Grand Avenue for having expired registration from over a year ago.

During the investigation, police said the found a "ghost gun" in a backpack on the floor in front of the passenger seat as well as three magazines, two of which were loaded with 9mm ammunition.

Police said they arrested La Corte Kring and booked him into the Marin County Jail for felony possession of a concealed firearm, possession of an unserialized firearm, carrying a concealed handgun in a vehicle, and for the outstanding traffic violations.

The vehicle was also impounded.
