Gunman In Downtown San Rafael Shooting Charged With Attempted Murder: Police

Detectives used surveillance video to identify the gunman, who opened fire at a group outside a business, according to police.

SAN RAFAEL, CA — A man was arrested Friday and charged with attempted murder in connection with a shooting last month in downtown San Rafael, according to police.

Haadi Bolourchi, 33, of San Rafael, was arrested while already in custody at the Marin County jail for an unrelated offense, police said, adding he is no longer eligible for bail.

The shooting occurred just before 9 p.m. Feb. 27 in a parking lot near B and First streets, according to police, who said responding officers found a male who had been shot in the hand and had suffered injuries that were not life-threatening.

Detectives used surveillance video to identify Bolourchi as the gunman, police said, adding he had walked to the scene, hid near a fence line and fired multiple shots at a group standing in front of a business.

Bolourchi had previously been booked into jail on March 14 for a charge of violating probation in connection with a 2019 gun incident and court order violation, according to police.
