Inmate Found Dead In Marin County Jail Cell
The inmate died Sunday morning after a deputy discovered them during a routine check.
SAN RAFAEL, CA — An inmate housed at the Marin County Jail was found dead inside a cell Sunday, the Marin County Sheriff's Office said.
At 2:24 a.m., a deputy who was conducting a routine check of the inmates located a person hanging inside of their cell, deputies said.
Live saving measures were performed on the inmate by the San Rafael Fire Department, but the person was pronounced dead at 3:23 a.m.

The Sheriff's Office said they requested the Novato Police Department to do an independent investigation in connection with the death.
