Man Rides Stolen Scooter To Police Department Appointment: Authorities

SAN RAFAEL, CA — A man is charged with felony theft after he rode a stolen scooter to the police department and was arrested by waiting officers, authorities said.

The man stole the scooter while it was parked outside of a business in downtown San Rafael, according to police, who opened the case Monday and said security footage clearly showed the thief.

A records clerk recognized the man, who had a property release appointment at the police department on Tuesday, authorities said.
