Marin Business Initiative Aims To Aid Ukraine

Fresh Coat Painters Serving Marin owner Kim Pace said she's committed to doing what she can to help the people of Ukraine.

MARIN COUNTY, CA — A local business owner who’s had enough of the horrific images of war flooding television news and social media sites this past week is taking matters into her own hands.

Fresh Coat Painters Serving Marin owner Kim Pace said she’s committed to doing what she can to help the people of Ukraine under attack amid Russia’s full-scale military invasion.

Pace has promised to donate $50 to Ukraine’s Red Cross for every new contract this month valued at $3,000 or more. The parent company, Fresh Coat Painters, has committed to matching the donation, bringing the total contribution for each to new contract to $100.

“My heart is pouring out for the President and people of Ukraine. They need supplies, shelters, medicine, prayers and support. I was watching the news and feeling helpless when I realized that, as a small business owner, I could help,” Pace said in a statement.

“I think it’s important for businesses to leverage their networks to drive social impact, locally and globally, and this is an opportunity I can create to help contribute to those in need.”

Pace launched Fresh Coat Painters Serving Marin amid the pandemic in 20202.

The company offers residential and commercial interior and exterior painting to communities throughout Marin.

Fresh Coat Painters’ Marin location is among more than 120 nationwide, according to the company’s website.

"Kim's initiative to support the people of Ukraine comes as no surprise,” Fresh Coat Painters President Tara Riley said in a statement.

“She's not one to sit on her hands in business, philanthropy or otherwise. She launched her business during the height of the pandemic, and despite the stress and uncertainty of that undertaking, she created Doors of Hope. I couldn't be more proud of her.”
