Marin Cop Arrested In Connection With DUI Crash: Report

MARIN COUNTY, CA — A Marin County sheriff’s sergeant was arrested in connection with a DUI collision in Sonoma County, The Marin Independent Journal reports.
Michael Brovelli, 49, of San Rafael, has not yet been charged and has a court appearance tentatively scheduled for April 1 connection with the Rohnert Park crash, the report said.
Brovelli was driving a department vehicle when he crashed into a fire hydrant on Camino Colegio near Magnolia Avenue at around 6 p.m. on March 4, the report said.

The Marin County Sheriff’s Office is conducting an internal investigation of Brovelli, the report said.
Brovelli was off-duty and was driving an unmarked vehicle at the time of the crash, Marin County Sheriff Robert Doyle told the IJ.
