Marin Cop Convicted Of DUI: Report
Under terms of a plea deal reached with prosecutors, a hit-and-run charge was dismissed, the report said.
MARIN COUNTY, CA — A veteran Marin cop arrested earlier this year pleaded no contest to a DUI charge in Sonoma County, The Marin Independent Journal reports.
Marin County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Michael James Brovelli, 49, pleaded no contest to DUI charges in connection with a March 4 Rohnert Park crash in which he damaged a fire hydrant on Monday, the report said.
Under terms of a plea deal reached with prosecutors, a hit-and-run charge was dismissed, the report said.

Brovelli agreed to participate in a work release program for six days in lieu of jail time, pay $2,292 in fines and complete a program for those convicted of DUI for the first time, according to the report.
Brovelli was off duty at the time of the crash. He remains employed by the Sheriff’s Office, according to the report.
