Marin Freeway Crash Kills 1
Investigators suspect the driver was not wearing his seatbelt, according to the California Highway Patrol.

MARIN COUNTY, CA — A 40-year-old Sonoma County man was killed Sunday afternoon in a Marin freeway crash, the California Highway Patrol said.
Officers at around 3:25 p.m. responded to the report of a solo-vehicle collision on US-101 northbound, north of San Antonio Road, the CHP said.
Officers determined the man was driving a 2003 Mitsubishi Montero on the freeway when for reasons still under investigation the driver swerved towards the right and went off the road, the CHP said.

“The vehicle overturned, and the driver was ejected from the vehicle,” CHP Officer Darrel Horner said.
“Despite numerous lifesaving efforts, the driver succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased on scene.”

Investigators suspect the driver was not wearing his seatbelt.
It is not yet known whether drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash, the CHP said.
