Marin High-Risk Offender Sweep Nets 1 Arrest
Authorities contacted and searched 26 high-risk offenders, of which one was taken into custody for a technical violation.
MARIN COUNTY, CA — A Marin high-risk offender sweep on Monday night resulted in one arrest, authorities said.
The Marin County Probation Department conducted the operation with the assistance of a California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation K9 unit and the agency’s Investigative Services Unit.
Compliance checks on registered sex offenders and DUI offenders were conducted on the evening of Halloween, “knowing that many children would be going door to door to trick or treat, the Probation Department wanted to ensure that no sex offenders had Halloween decorations or candy on display to invite children into their homes,” county officials said.
