Marin Readies For Freeway Closure

The closure is part of the Richardson Bay Bridge project.

MARIN COUNTY, CA — Part of a Marin freeway is scheduled to be closed next week as work on the Richardson Bay Bridge project resumes.

The Highway 101 northbound connector ramp in Mill Valley is scheduled to be closed Sunday through Thursday from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. (each day).

The Sausalito/Bridgeway onramp is scheduled to be closed on the same days during the same hours.

A detour will be available.

The construction work will involve the replacement of the existing asphalt concrete bridge deck surface with concrete in both the northbound and southbound directions of Highway 101 at Richardson Bay Bridge in the Sausalito and Mill Valley areas.

The approximately 3,000-foot-long Richardson Bay Bridge was completed as part of Highway 101, was completed in 1956.

It replaced the California Redwood Bridge, 2,452-foot-long structure completed in 1931, according to the Sausalito Historical Society.
