Marin Readies For Partial Freeway Closure

MARIN COUNTY, CA — Part of a Marin freeway will be closed for construction next week.

Four northbound lanes of Highway 101 will be closed starting from just south of the Bridgeway on-ramp to just before the Seminary Drive exit in Mill Valley.

The lanes will be closed from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. starting Sunday and Monday nights from 8 a.m. to 5 a.m. starting Tuesday night.

The construction project involves the replacing the existing asphalt concrete bridge deck surface with new concrete in both the northbound and southbound directions.

One lane will remain open.

The bicycle lane on the Highway-101 northbound shoulder will be closed during construction hours.

Cyclists can take a detour to Highway-101 southbound onto the Mill Valley Sausalito bike path, and then take a right on Hamilton Drive and a left on Redwood Highway Frontage Road (detour signs have been posted).

Residents in the area may experience noise and some dust due to the work.

Changeable message and directional signs will be in place to assist motorists traveling in the area, and the California Highway Patrol will be on-site during the closures.
