Marin Weighs Four Corners Intersection Facelift

MARIN COUNTY, CA – Officials are considering design improvements for a key Marin intersection, and a forum scheduled for next month aims to inform the public about the proposals under consideration.

The virtual meeting is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Dec. 1.

The Four Corners intersection (Panoramic Highway/Sequoia Valley Road/Muir Woods Road) provides access between Highway 101, Shoreline Highway, Mill Valley, and Tam Valley to Muir Woods, Mount Tamalpais, Stinson Beach, and other West Marin destinations.

A Department of Public Works design team will present proposals designed to improve traffic flow and safety.

“With the goal of improving visibility and functionality for all users, including tourists who may not be familiar with the area, the project will address the configuration of the intersection, including the skewed approaches of the roadways and lane alignments,” county officials said in a news release.

“The number of cyclists and hikers either using or crossing the roadway further emphasizes the multimodal uses and the need to develop a solution that benefits all users.”
