Marin's Positivity Rate Hits Five-Month Low
The county's COVID-19 positivity rate has plummeted precipitously since mid-August.
MARIN COUNTY, CA — Marin’s prolonged subvariant-fueled summertime surge appears to be over.
The county’s positivity rate earlier this month fell below five percent for the first time in five months, and it has remained below that level since falling to 4.6 percent Sept. 15, according to the county’s COVID-19 dashboard.
Marin’s positivity rate has plummeted precipitously since mid-August.

Marin’s positivity rate was in double digits for more than three months from May 15 (10.3 percent) to Aug. 16 (10.4).
Marin, one of the nation’s most vaccinated counties, has reported 187 new cases in the past 10 days and 41,528 cases and 266 deaths since the start of the pandemic.
