Plans Filed To Build New Homes In Lucas Valley
A developer has filed an application to construct 29 new single-family homes in Lucas Valley.
SAN RAFAEL, CA — The county is reviewing an application to build over two dozen homes in Lucas Valley, including six set aside for lower earners.
According to the Marin County Comunity Development Agency, Hazen Development's proposal seeks to construct 29 single-family houses at 7 Mount Lassen Drive. The application filed last month includes 23 homes to be priced at the market rate and six reserved for households earning between $84,000 and $251,950.
"There's a need for housing at all income levels in Marin County," said CDA Director Sarah Jones. "The county will review this application carefully against state and local laws and requirements. We've heard a lot of important perspectives from Lucas Valley residents as we've planned for more housing and look forward to hearing more now that we have a full proposal."

The county received the application Oct. 15, and a full review is underway by multiple agencies. State law requires the review to be completed within 30 days. If the county determines more information is needed, the developer will have a chance to make changes and re-submit the proposal.
The next step would be a 60-day Housing Compliance Review, which includes an online presentation to share more details with community members.
