Proposed San Rafael Housing Development Gets Open House Thursday
The developers of Auburn Grove plan to build 79 townhouse-style homes on multiple vacant lots in unincorporated San Rafael.

SAN RAFAEL, CA — The developers of a proposed housing development will detail their plan during an in-person open house event scheduled for Thursday in San Rafael.
According to the county, the Auburn Grove project would replace several vacant lots along Woodland Avenue and Auburn Street with a townhouse-style development featuring 79 three-bedroom units, sized between 1,500 and 1,665 square feet. The homes are designed in a craftsman style, featuring attached decks and garages, spanning 16 unattached three-story buildings.
According to planners, the project would take up roughly 3.4 acres of an 8.8-acre site, with none of the construction impacting existing wetlands. The project would set aside 20 percent of the units for affordable housing, making 16 homes available to households earning between 65 and 125 percent of the area median income.
