Ritter Center, Anthem Blue Cross Unveil Mobile Behavioral Health Van
The new outreach vehicle will bring mental health services to Marin County's most vulnerable.
SAN RAFAEL, CA— Ritter Center and Anthem Blue Cross Foundation have launched a new mobile behavioral health outreach van aimed at expanding mental health and social services for hard-to-reach populations in Marin County.
The unveiling took place Friday at Ritter Center’s headquarters in San Rafael, where officials emphasized the urgent need for expanded behavioral health support in the region.
According to the Marin County Health and Human Services Department, over 20 percent of adults report experiencing symptoms of depression, and substance use disorders continue to affect individuals and families across the county. The newly retrofitted van, funded through a grant from Anthem Blue Cross Foundation, is designed to bring essential care directly to those in need.

The Behavioral Health Outreach Van will serve as a mobile mental health office, providing a safe and private space for mental health services, telehealth appointments, case management, screenings, vaccinations, and food assistance. Over the next four years, the program is expected to reach more than 3,600 individuals.
“This mobile unit allows us to meet clients where they are and provide the critical support they need to improve their health and well-being,” said Mark Shotwell, CEO of Ritter Center.
