San Rafael DUI Checkpoint Nets 1 Arrest, 23 Citations

Officers screened 501 vehicles, of which 33 were stopped to determine if they were impaired or unlicensed, police said.

SAN RAFAEL, CA – A San Rafael DUI checkpoint over the weekend resulted in one arrest and 23 citations, police said.

The checkpoint was held from 6 to 11:30 p.m. Friday at the intersection of Lincoln and Grand avenues.

Officers screened 501 vehicles, of which 33 were stopped to determine if they were impaired or unlicensed, police said.

One person was arrested on suspicion of DUI and 23 others were cited for driving without a license.

Funding for the checkpoint was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
