San Rafael Readies For Sewer Construction Project
The San Rafael Sanitation District will work on the Woodland Avenue Sewer Improvement project the next three Saturdays (Aug. 7, 14 and 21).
SAN RAFAEL, CA – Crews this weekend will start work on a sewer construction project, city officials said.
The San Rafael Sanitation District will work on the Woodland Avenue Sewer Improvement project the next three Saturdays (Aug. 7, 14 and 21) from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The work will be conducted on Woodland Avenue from Woodland Place to B Street, where crews will perform trenching and install lower lateral sewer lines. The work will be within the Woodland Avenue right-of-way and will require lane closures and traffic control.

No road closures or roadway detours are planned. The road will be open with traffic control for local access, but through-traffic will be detoured via Bayview, C and Octavia streets.Sidewalks may be re-routed around the specific worksite where the trenching is being performed.
The contractor will provide pedestrian detours around each worksite.

City officials are urging motorists to drive with caution and follow all posted directional signals.
Westland Contractors has been contracted by the district to perform the work, city officials said.
