San Rafael Resident Killed In Point Reyes-Petaluma Road Crash

He was not wearing a seat belt and died at the scene, the coroner said.

NORTH BAY, CA — A driver killed in a solo-vehicle crash Monday on Point Reyes-Petaluma Road in Chileno Valley was identified by the Marin County Coroner's Office as a resident of both Marin and Sonoma counties.

Djakari Rashawn Pariani-Tompkins, a 29-year-old man who shared residences in Petaluma and San Rafael, died shortly after 3:40 p.m. Monday in the 5900 block of Point Reyes-Petaluma Road, according to a report from Marin County Chief Deputy Coroner Roger Fielding.

Pariani-Tompkins was driving a 2001 Ford Expedition westbound when he lost control of the SUV, and it left the roadway and rolled onto its roof. He was not wearing a seat belt and was partially ejected. When the SUV came to rest, he was trapped beneath it and suffered traumatic injuries incompatible with life, Fielding said.
