San Rafael School Reinstates Mask Mandate Amid Outbreak: Report
Coleman Elementary School reported 20 new COVID-19 infections since March 22, the report said.
SAN RAFAEL, CA — A Marin school has reinstated its mask mandate amid a COVID-19 outbreak, The Marin Independent Journal reports.
Coleman Elementary School reported 20 new infections since March 22, of which 14 involve students and six district employees, the report said.
Principal Mike Taylor announced the school’s move to require facial coverings in a letter to parents obtained by The IJ.

The school is distributing rapid home tests, according to the report.
“I want to emphasize that this is not a time for alarm, but for us to implement the recommended public health strategies to respond to an uptick in cases and decrease risk of transmission,” Taylor’s letter said.
