​San Rafael To Use Pandemic Funds For Flood Project: Report

SAN RAFAEL, CA — The city of San Rafael plans to use funds intended to provide relief from one crisis to help avert another, The Marin Independent Journal reports.

The city plans to spend $3.2 million of its pandemic relief funds to rebuild the San Quentin pump station near Shoreline Parkway, the report said.

The 720-square-foot pump station is part of a the city’s network of 12, according to the report.

The city plans to replace it with a 2,100-square-foot pump station, Public Works Direction Bill Guerin told the news outlet.
