Just before 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, San Rafael Police Department officers said they received an emergency call that a resident, later identified as Antoinae Tajzahnique Austin, 30, had stabbed another resident in the stomach at a housing complex on the 3300 block of Kerner Boulevard.

Officers said they were searching the area at 6:50 p.m. when they received another report that a woman had threatened someone in the area with a knife on San Pablo Avenue. No one was reported injured.

Police said they then arrived at that scene and learned Austin had fled again — this time into an open space.

At 7:50 p.m., officers said they found out Austin had returned to the housing on Kerner Boulevard.

Officers said they located Austin barricaded in a bathroom at the home and she refused to come out.

Police said they tried to convince her exit for 40 minutes when they then forced entry and took her into custody.

Police said they booked Austin into the Marin County Jail for felony assault with a deadly weapon, brandishing of a knife and resisting or obstructing a peace officer.
