Suspect Arrested In Home Burglary
The homeowner fired a gun as he heard a person trying to break into the house through a window, police said.
SAN RAFAEL, CA — San Rafael police Wednesday morning arrested a man who is suspected of burglarizing a residence earlier this month.
A homeowner in the 200 block of San Marino Drive called police around 10 a.m. on Jan. 17 while someone was breaking a window to get into his residence. The homeowner called police and fired a gun toward the back of the house where the break-in was occurring, police said. The suspect fled and police do not know if he was shot.
Detective Kevin MacDougald searched for evidence and re-interviewed the victim and witnesses who lived in the area. MacDougald determined Jamal Jay Bseiso, 60, a transient, was a possible suspect in the burglary and other misdemeanor cases of vandalism and petty theft, and he was
identified as the suspect, police said.

Detectives found Bseiso's vehicle in the 1300 block of Hamilton Parkway in Novato around 9:30 a.m. He was booked into Marin County Jail on suspicion of burglary and burglary of an occupied dwelling, police said.
