Bay Area Teen Dies After Falling From Cliff
A Bay Area high school student heading into senior year accidentally slipped from a cliff edge, officials said.

SAN RAFAEL, CA — A 17-year-old high school student died after he slipped off a cliff Aug. 11 in Marin County, officials said.
The Marin County Coroner's Office identified the teen as Aaron Baten Gramajo, a San Rafael High School student who was heading into his senior year.
A GoFundMe page stated he was hiking at the Marin Headlands on Aug. 11.

"At just 17, Aaron touched countless hearts with his kindness, laughter, and dreams for the future. Unfortunately on August 11th Aaron had an accident while doing something that he really loved, hiking at Marin Headlands. He leaves behind two sisters and parents who loved him deeply. We are raising funds to help his family with funeral expenses and to honor his memory. Your support means the world during this unimaginable loss," the GoFundMe page stated.
According to the Marin County Coroner's office, Gramajo accidentally slipped off a cliff while on a hike in the Kirby Cove area just west of the Golden Gate Bridge.

San Rafael High School principal Joe Dominguez released a statement to address the community.
“It is with a heavy heart that I share that Aaron Baten Gramajo, a San Rafael High School rising senior, tragically passed away Monday evening. Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones during this extremely difficult time. Aaron grew up here in San Rafael, and his loss deeply affects so many, especially those in the Laurel Dell, Davidson and SRHS community who he and his family are closely connected with,” Dominguez wrote in a letter to the community.
