Woman Who Died In Cell At Marin Jail ID'd

The Petaluma woman had been arrested in San Rafael on drug allegations and an outstanding warrant, officials said.

SAN RAFAEL, CA — A woman who died in a jail cell at Marin County Jail last week has been identified by the Sonoma County Sheriff's Office as Felicia Wyatt, a 35-year-old Petaluma resident.

Wyatt was found in need of medical assistance by a guard doing a routine check at 5:45 a.m. Thursday. She was pronounced dead after life-saving measures were unsuccessful.

Wyatt was alone in the F-Pod facility of the housing unit at Marin County Jail when she was found. She was arrested on Jan. 23 in San Rafael for drug-related allegations and an outstanding warrant.

Wyatt was waiting to be transferred to Sonoma County Jail at the time of her death in the custody of the Marin County Sheriff's Office, which runs the jail.

The death is being investigated by the Novato Police Department and the Sonoma County Coroner, which had not determined a manner of death as of Tuesday.
