San Ramon Cooling Centers Open For Extended Hours During Extreme Heat

The city has opened plenty of spots to cool down as temperatures hover around 100 for the next few days.

SAN RAMON, CA — With temperatures expected to rise to 105 degrees Tuesday in San Ramon, it’s important to stay cool and hydrated. The city has opened up the following cooling centers with extended hours:

San Ramon Community Center (12501 Alcosta Blvd)

  • Tuesday, July 2: 8:30 a.m.–6 p.m.
  • Wednesday, July 3: 8:30 a.m.–8 p.m.
  • Thursday, July 4: CLOSED
  • Friday, July 5: 8:30 a.m.–6 p.m.

Alcosta Senior and Community Center (9300 Alcosta Blvd)

  • Wednesday, July 3: 8:30 a.m.–8 p.m.

Splash pads are open at Central Park and Rancho San Ramon Park from 10-5 p.m..

Temperatures are expected to hover around 100 until Sunday, when the Excessive Heat Warning ends at 8 p.m. San Ramon is also under a Red Flag Warning until Tuesday at 11 p.m.

The National Weather Service recommends the following safety tips:

  • Drink plenty of fluids
  • Avoid spending time outside if possible, and stay out of the sun
  • Know the signs of heat stroke, which include a throbbing headache, confusion, nausea, dizziness, fever, strong pulse, fainting, and more
  • Keep the air conditioning on
  • Wear loose and lightweight clothing
  • Never leave young children or pets unattended in a vehicle
