Lifeguard Positions & Training Available In San Ramon

The city is hiring summer lifeguards, and offering a certification course.

SAN RAMON, CA — It may seem far off as yet another winter storm wallops the area, but summer is approaching, and the City of San Ramon is looking for lifeguards. Certified lifeguards are eligible to apply now to work as a city lifeguard for summer 2023, positions that pay anywhere from $15.50 to $20.46 an hour, depending on experience.

Registration is also available for theCity of San Ramon’s April lifeguarding course, which provides American Red Cross Lifeguard Training. Successful completion of the course will provide certification in lifeguarding, First Aid, CPR/AED for Lifeguards, First Aid for Public Safety Personnel, Oxygen Administration and Preventing Disease Transmission.

The course costs up to $286.25, but scholarships are available, and hired lifeguards are eligible to receive a $50 reimbursement.

The course is open to anyone 15 or older who is able to pass a physical exam. The next course will not be offered until July 2023.
